Wage gaps are caused by various other factors like time taken off work, hours worked, profession chosen, ability to negotiate pay, etc.

Skin color and gender may affect some factors, but that works both ways.

Women in general make less, because on average they work less. And when they do work, they generally take the lower end jobs that pay less.

Women are also far less likely to ask for a raise.

Number is also wildly skewed by a few hyper motivated and hyper successful men who make crazy crazy bank and skew the numbers up for the rest of them.
