I'm on your side of this issue but "deadly" is not an accurate descriptor with the fatality rate we have. That's a word that connotes the kind of survival rates we see in, like, ebola

The issue with the virus isn't that it's a particularly deadly virus - it's that it's extremely transmissible, which makes even the small odds of a dire outcome translate into huge numbers.

If everybody rolls the dice, you get a lot of snake eyes, but that doesn't mean it's rational to act as though every throw of the dice has high probability to produce that result
