ah kenji ito i know who that is that is the person who wrote ""Last Battle ~ T260G"" from Saga Frontier and this track reminds me a lot of that one, except i like this even more! i guess the only way it is like that is that it has like super fake electronic drums from the 808 or what ever on top of like ""the constant notes loop"". i had a 'friend' who acted like kenji ito was ""good"" but that everything that i liked was ""bad"" so there is some what of a bias i have against kenji ito like i assume that people who like him are MEAN and HATE ME but then i remember he did the Saga Frontier tracks i like like Last Battle ~ Emelia and realize that he is probably more good than i remember...ALTHOUGH he is on the ""pokemon mystery dungeon ost no one likes except for uf8(wii) "" and i have to wonder what he even did on that.....

this is very ""world music"" while still retaining a clearly electronic exterior at the same time and i dig that middle ground a TON and there's all the glassy 90s synth sounds that i love~! earlier this month i acquired two synths from the 90s that i absolutely adore (E-mu Morpheus and Roland D-110) but they are probably not in this song because they weren't super commonly used in vgm or anything but man it's got me DEEP in the mood for these timbres~!!!! so i am so happy to be listening to these sounds that are fake versions of ETHNIC acoustic instruments that sound even more vibrant than a real metal object that you would hit with a mallet that looks like a rich person in ""india"" would have it next to their bed or something

i like how the initial impression of this song is kinda super neutral/happy/plain emotionally, and it takes these big cool crystalline sounds that don't come in until like :38 for this to actually get like [melodic] and [emotion(mysterious forest)] it reminds me so much of joe hisaishi in the 80s. that contrast from unassuming to powerful is /powerful/

oh right and i enjoy ""parallel fourths""(the pokemon mystery dungeon notes) in that main loop, it sounds like an ancient computer made out of rocks that is inside of the grass level; like stonehenge, except not british, it's like a japanese version of stone henge called ""castle in the sky (composed by joe hisaishi)""how could i react to a song like this without posting a bunch of joe hisashi songs that i think sound like it so here are some of those:

Joe Hisaishi - The Path of the Wind (from the ""My Neighbor Totoro"" soundtrack) [[this isn't the original version but it's still a good version, the original is just as fake and 80s tbh]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9OZ2dtQ2B4

Joe Hisaishi - Ohmu (from the Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind Image Album (i think the totoro one was from the ""image albujm"" too))
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuRRLNQTiS0

Joe Hisaishi - KIDS RETURN (oh wait this isn't entomorph yet sorry; please pretend i linked this song on zyx's entomorph nom(Saltmoon Village) which has not shown up yet; but it still fits with this one!!!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6pNn_Fxze4

Trails in the Sky SC - Liber Ark(Composed by Takahiro Unisuga)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otHx6wfd4j4

so as you can see i like things that feel on the border of nature and technology; but without ever really explicitly expressing which elemental is dominant of the two in the presentation. i think all of those songs /could/ work somewhere totally futuristic, but also could work somewhere totally ancient ruins cave. and it's not that way because they're generic, it's that way because they all for various reasons have that intended blur i feel. you know that these songs are ""fake"" (which can read as hi-tech) but you also know that they present something distant from modern humanity; and god I DONT KNOW i just like musifc that sounds like this ok i love 'new age' and wat ever and it's probably joe hisaishi's fault but it might be ar tonelico 2 ost's fault and the fault of my obsession with myst and myst-like games too

Culdcept II - Lost Techno (First Half) takes me to a cool place and i like it there and i also like it in the 90s(2002)
