The way it was originally sold to me, we get a quarterly bonus for meeting certain quality improvement metrics that ultimately adds up to equalization in salary. During the covid-19 pandemic, we were expected to see double the number of patients without any pay increase, but it didn't end there. One of the quality metrics is percentage of patients discharged before a certain time in the morning, and during the pandemic that was basically impossible due to case load. The tldr is that we wound up seeing over twice as many patients, but also got paid significantly less.
