Im not saying natural physical edge is the only thing that determines success in top level sports. Just because African Americans on average have an edge in the game of basketball due to their taller average heights doesnt mean that edge would be realized if the culture they grew up wasnt influenced by basketball. Obviously physical differences mean less at the top level of competition because theyre all super athletic, the difference is in skill level, and thats mostly fostered by the culture the athlete grew up in.
