There were several lines toward the end that I understood the significance of because of stuff that's revealed later, but I won't mention that here. I get the complaints I'm seeing in other topics that the ends of these cases feel pretty unsatisfying because, in this instance, Brett is basically going to get off scot-free despite Naruhodo essentially proving she did it. I guess the "problem" here is that Takumi is basically writing one big mystery novel with Great Ace Attorney, and every mystery novel needs a hook to move on to the next part of the mystery. There is literally no satisfying resolution of any kind until the very end. Each event just builds on the overarching plot until the big reveal at the end. However, this approach is very un-Ace Attorney-like, so it might be hitting the wrong notes for some people as a result because it's not delivering the satisfying climaxes you're used to getting from each individual case (with very few exceptions up until now). As for me, I did enjoy the case. Brett was a solid villain. She employed a lot of misdirection in a classic mystery style, constantly trying to prevent you from focusing on what you should really be paying attention to. Naruhodo and Kazuma were great together. I loved Kazuma's statement at the end that Auchi's clan would never in a thousand years measure up to Naruhodo's clan, and we see that being fulfilled in Phoenix's beatdowns of the Payne brothers! --- ...
