This will be a bit of a different playthrough since I've already seen LPs of both games. I didn't think we'd ever get them, so I went ahead and watched them since I wanted to know how they went, story-wise. However, I won't openly spoil beyond where I am in the game, so for you newbies, you can follow without fear in that regard. I enjoyed my experience with them so much that they inspired me to read all the Sherlock Holmes stories, and it really kickstarted my mystery genre fandom.

Anyway, the main reason I'm doing a separate topic instead of just posting in the SELF topic like I normally would is that I plan to do line counts and time stats for these games, and I know some of the people who'd be interested in that don't follow that topic (to my knowledge). If you're not familiar with it, I played through the series a few years ago and kept track of how many lines of dialogue are in each case to see which case was the biggest in that regard, and then I played through again and personally timed how long each case was to see which one took me the most time to beat. I've saved all that info on Google Docs if you want to check them out.

Time stats: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qSdmjcbQjG_QPBFylHNgk7oVXRbsSjDetdO8w7Ygh8k

Line counts: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sBPDmATQERIv7R3VvvXx43DRJZNOwnSwmLkZhfWLqSc

So the plan here is for me to play through once and do line counts, and then immediately replay it to do time stats (since the goal is to time it based on just going straight through and not getting stuck anywhere along the way). I'll update the numbers each time I finish a case. Oh right, one "line" of dialogue is just one uninterrupted speech by the same character, regardless of the number of text boxes it takes.

I do intend to give my thoughts on the cases, the characters, and all that, too, but this is my primary motivator.

So here we go.
