They can still individually do good things (I would cite the four officers who testified on the Capitol Insurrection earlier this week as an example), but they are nonetheless agents of a system that has been constructed over hundreds of years to protect* property, favor Whites, and oppress people of color. Blacks, being considered property at the time, were not well protected.
