The normal inelastic hemp tie line had been replaced by a cheaper nylon rope which could stretch. The ship approached the dock too quickly and and an employee slipped the rope onto the cleat to brake the ship, something it was not designed for. The rope stretched under the load, ripping the cleat free of the wooden hull and launching into the crowd at high speed. captpackrat posted... One person was killed on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and ten others were injured when the train derailed. The locomotive fell on top of the first car, crushing it.These are the only ones that weren't caused by guest behavior. captpackrat posted...
