9: Blue Eyes Alternative White Dragon



Here is the retrain I was referring to. Ultimate dragon has an alternative version as well but I put this card here instead because I actually don't like the way alternative ultimate looks.

Usability: 10/10
This might as well be a free special summon. Blue eyes decks have tons of ways to search out blue eyes, which means your opponent already knows you have one in your hand. You basically get to say "here is this card you already knew I had, now I'll summon this card." The destruction effect is good, nothing fancy, but imo an underrated part of this card is that its name is treated as "Blue Eyes White Dragon" which means you can use all the blue eyes support with it, and use it for fusion summons for the aforemention blue eyes alternate ultimate dragon, which is an absolute monster.

Design: 9/10
I am really happy that they stayed mostly faithful to the original blue eyes while still touching it up just enough that you can tell it's different. This is a big reason I don't like Alternate ultimate, it looks way way too different imo, especially the face.

So, and this is going to sound dumb but bear with me, I actually never really used a blue eyes engine because it was SO popular, even in duel links (where the main deck I use specifically counters blue eyes because it's so popular and powerful). This is part of why I prefer red eyes, because ti's sort of the luigi to the mario of eyes dragons. But even so, blue eyes is THE yugioh card. You've gotta have some appreciation, even if not personal affection.

I know a blue eyes at only #9 seems crazy, and it probably is, and it's not because I don't like blue eyes. The other cards I just like more, and from here on out I don't think there's a card that won't have at least higher attachment scores than a majority of thsi list (think like 4+)
