Kevin Smith being absolutely full of shit on social media to suck up to various entertainment companies is pretty standard these days, honestly. The prevailing theory is that if he keeps giving them free PR, they might be willing to hire him to do more things, especially now that his own creative rep is kind of in tatters (when's the last time he made a movie people actually liked?).
