Besides the questionable decision to move forward in the middle of a pandemic in a country with ridiculously sub-par vaccination rates, there's the fact that many athletes could/would not attend the games because of the pandemic. Throw in a little bit of the old IOC idpol getting in the way of athletics and you have what will probably be the biggest tire fire olympics since 1980 --- Props to azuarc, the current Guru of the Decade.
