False. 2007 metalcore is nothing like 2021 and 50 Cent was not a triplet-feel trap rapper. If we take like the last ~8-10 years, than yeah it got somewhat stagnant but theres still new genre-defining/bending artist that pop up.
Id say the very mainstream is way worse now though. Theres no way trash like Billie Eyelash, Pop Smoke, Lil Baby, Taylor Swift, Kanye, Migos, Imagine Dragons and 21 Pilots and 5FDP are better than the awesomeness that were MTV videos, nu metal, grunge and post-grunge, Eminem, gangsta rap and cheesy but endearing girl and boy groups and Britneys. And then there was the whole British rave scene and various electronic and industrial movements.
