Stannis was boring as shit. Never understood the hype. They could have put a potato in his place and everyone could have said how much they respect him and not much would have changed. Without Davos standing beside him being great and constantly talking about how honorable, just, and strong convictions he has you would have never known! What is his like second scene? Being manipulated like a weak-willed loser with no strong convictions into breaking his vows to his wife and cheat on her, then instead of facing Renly in battle he does the most underhanded, cowardly, non-honorable, totally against his previously established strong convictions backstab in the world using demon magic. He's just yet another generic evil bald dude lusting for power the only difference is Davos keeps assuring us he's got all this amazing character strengths that just aren't present in the actual text/show at all. Show us don't tell us. He had conviction enough in the Seven to cut off dudes fingers but throws it all away in two seconds like a flip-flopping jellyfish. Every scene more interesting people talk around him while hes just quiet looking like hes about to cry. Stannis did everything he didnt want to do and still lost. Im glad he got murdered by someone with actual honor who never wavered. But even that was unsatisfying.
