Illinois became the first state to ban police from lying to minors in interrogation. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/07/16/illinois-police-lying-ban/ So they can no longer falsely promise leniency for a confession or claim incriminating evidence exists when it doesn't, etc. It remains legal for the police to lie in interrogation for those over 18 in Illinois and for everyone in every other state.
