well i mean what did you do? lets hear it tc

So, my girlfriends best friend complained about me not having a nice salaried job. She joked I was a failure in life for not being more "manly". My girlfriend got mad at her and now they're not talking. Now, she saying maybe her friend is right. Why don't I have more motivation to improve? Frankly, that's BS as I do but, right now I'm trying to get settled at this new job.

So, I refuted someone saying her friend is right. I said how is it fair for the man to do all the heavy lifting but, women don't have too? My girlfriend doesn't have a job and nor does her friend. I claimed it's rather hypocritical for her to even humor her friend considering neither have jobs. I got massively downvoted and any further attempts to defend meself dug me in further.

That and we'd been dating for 3 years and weren't married/living together. That was proof I wasn't serious about the relation.
