Considering the particularly extreme collapse of the medical system in Italy a year ago, and that Mexico has taken things extremely lightly, it makes complete sense. It may come off as a surprise, but a lot of confirmed deceased cases in Mexico have come from young people (ages 15-30). This partially comes down to them being the least preoccupied on the matter (mainly by being sold to the idea that Covid only really affects the elderly), and that places like nightclubs have been open for some months now and without any kind of restrictions. They're also the ones who travel most to the beach, etc. In fact, ever since the first panic state of "brace yourselves... the deadly coronavirus from China is coming" was over, people gradually started doing their normal activities like nothing happened, and the population's confidence has only gone higher by being vaccinated. The only thing I see is everyone's still using facemasks, but that's about it.
