Apparently Book of Exalted Deeds+Faceless Haven is a game-winning combo in Standard 2022 now unless the opponent is running land destruction, which no one is. (It works in actual Standard also but Field of Ruin is a common-ish answer to it.) To be clear they can also kill the Haven the turn you make it a creature, which you have to do in order to put the counter on it from the book, but presumably you are going to run protection or wait for them to tap out. Obviously this is realistic counterplay though. Edited for clarity (hopefully) --- I didn't do guru this year but azuarc can be in my sig anyways. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
