So Netflix Indonesia has noticeably different library compared to the US, but I'm glad I found some of our movies there:
Saint Maud 6.5/10 Psychedelic and dark, I get what the movie is trying to do, but it just doesn't stick the landing for me (unlike those nails sticking to Maud's feet). I like the premise of "unhinged zealot tries to save someone's soul in her own twisted way" but Maud is just too unstable and violent to make the process exciting. I liked it when she tried to get intel from the new caretaker, but afterwards she just...sneaks in in the middle of the night and tries to baptize Amanda or something. Also, the moments where we see/hear her delusions are cool, but we need either more stark juxtaposition between her reality and what other people see, or just blurs the line between reality and fantasy a bit more. Great, haunting final shot though. I also appreciate its relatively brisk runtime.
