I think it's more just the quality of poll options rather than a real aversion to them. I have no intention to buy one, not because I think poorly of it, but because I haven't bought a handheld since the GBC, or a console since my PS2. Probably just the best option for people who aren't intending to buy it!
Aye. Definitely exceptions to every rule. It just seems like there are way too many people that pick a side and then stick to it rather than just buying/playing what looks interesting. I mean there are people who still refuse to buy Blu-Rays because they "don't think that the format will last" or like those Sony guys who say they will NEVER buy a Microsoft console or vice-versa. It's just a dumb way to think.
Come on, do you actually believe most people answered the last option because they don't think "3DS won't last/there won't be games on 3DS in a few months" or something like that? I'm pretty sure most are aware that's not the case and just thought it wasn't a product they'd ever have use for. What's the problem with that?
I'm with you on picking a side/brand loyalty, it's not wise. I stick with Sony for now because the games I like are mostly on Sony's systems, not because I love them. If Metal Gear Solid 4 was an Xbox 360 exclusive, that's most likely the console I would've ended up buying.

Sony doing it does not make it any less of a gimmick. 3D has no future whatsoever until full virtual reality.
Tons of people were saying the same thing about motion controls and they are not going anywhere.
While there are "smart" consumers who will buy them, sure. But real gamers have already said their piece regarding motion controls: they suck ass.
