I'm not so sure even 100 years is enough unless we suddenly massively increase space exploration funding. We were supposed to have humans on Mars by 2000. Didn't happen. I no longer believe in amazing feats like landing on Mars or colonizing the moon even, anytime remotely "soon".

People just don't give space agencies enough funding or respect. The common citizen doesn't understand why it's so important and they vote for politicians who reflect that attitude

I turned 40 a week ago. I predict I have maybe 20 years left. Other people on CE will see more but not by much. The average age now on here I think is 30. Some CEmen and CEgals may live to see people living on the moon in colonies. But if they do, I bet those people will be very old. And probably won't even be able to move to the moon themselves. Just hear about it on the news

The problem with colonializing other worlds is the first people to do it have to be young and fit. Elderly can't make the trip until the location has been utterly dominated by mankind and made safe for all. Nobody on CE today is young enough that they will still be alive by the time anyone can just randomly go to the moon or Mars. None of us will ever get to go into space. Some of our children might though...maybe
