Like 8 months ago, she was reading out her sub counts on youtube by region (I think it was sub counts, might have been superchat earnings or something). She was literally just reading the page as it appears in her youtube statistics. In reading the regions, she read taiwan and it's sub count. That's it. That's all she did.

one thing to note is that someone else (aqua) also made the same mistake right before her, which led a lot of incensed chinese nationalists to believe she did it on purpose out of malicious intent to draw attention away from the other person. in reality, the streams happened pretty close together iirc and it was pretty unlikely she actually meant anything by it

but it was leveraged against her intensely by trolls
