Edit: I think the difference is that he won't "Target" party members with attacks if they can absorb it. You can be immune to it though. So since doomsday doesn't target it will use it even if your whole party absorbs it I think. Likewise, it will use regular and lv4 Holy if your party member is simply immune but doesn't absorb (but won't use lv4 holy if you don't have a lv4 member in the first place, same for lv5 death). You can also apparently auto-reflect and it will still use things like berserk.
