I think all the companies would bail if something better came along. Heck, Nintendo could lift right out without much trouble, and MS doesn't even do their conferences at the official E3 show. The only thing that would really concern me is that currently all eyes being on E3 means a ton of smaller games by indie teams get way more attention than they otherwise would, and I don't know how you'd make an equivalent for that without one centralised event. --- Slowly becoming a Final Fantasy aficionado.
