AAI1-1: Turnabout Visitor

We hear Mr Portsman out as he accuses Gumshoe of killing Det. Faith. Edgeworth points out that the missing file, if stolen by Gumshoe, means he would have seen his own name there. Plus the file was stolen after the murder.

A desperate Mr Portsman then attempts to push the blame off on one Ms Maggey Byrde, the building's security guard, because of course she is. For whatever reason, even though she refers to her many mishaps to Edgeworth later, Maggey seems a little bit more appealing this time around.

Portsman continues an incriminating series of assertions, and Maggey points out she couldn't have used the master key to get into Mr Edgeworth's office because it was not in her possession at that time. Portsman insists that between the missing file and the secret safe, Maggey's intent was thievery. Edgeworth points out this can't be the case as Maggey wouldn't have even known about the safe. Only a prosecutor would have known about it.

Portsman kicks us out into the hallway, where we find the missing file under a bench. We poke around various areas of the hallway, including the basketball hoop that Portsman keeps outside of his office. Maggey posits that Portsman had wanted Edgeworth's office, 1202, because his birthday is Dec. 2nd.

We find from examining the doors that the door plates can be moved easily. I suspect swapping occurred.

Maggey talks about letting Mr Portsman in to his office since he forgot his key and locking up when he left. Other than that, the key was missing during the appointed time. Hmmm...

Probs time for some Logic! See you tomorrow.
