So, that is sorta my belief.

First I believe initially there was a being that was conscious, he was bored as balls, so he created the universe. That was pretty cool for awhile but when dealing with eternity, everything eventually gets old (literally).

The solution was simple, split up his personality/consciousness among billions and billions of life forms throughout time, each and every one is separate and lives out individual lives with no (or almost no) recollection of other lives they have lived.

This works well and fighting unending boredom, but the basic laws of the universe still stand.

Therefore, eventually the universe collapses back on itself, and then once again explodes. This would naturally be completely different each time, with totally different planets etc, except, it's infinite, it happens over and over and over again.

If you repeat anything enough times, you start to create a loop. Initially just the actual location of planets/matter in the universe would be the same each time, but over enough times, you would start to have the actions of every entity in the universe repeat. We may or may not be at that point already, but it is quite possible that we are reliving the same lives over and over again at this point, as well as living as every other sentient being between resets.

This would explain the feeling that you have done things before, or for-knowledge of the future occasionally etc. It also explains why sometimes if you have a close connection with someone you can feel their pain, or know when something bad happens to them etc.

While there is not a ton of evidence to support this theory, it makes logical sense, and there is no evidence to disprove it. It's fairly likely that something along these lines is exactly why we exist and is how the universe itself works.
