Not really. Even if you rate Kuminga as the same as the rest of that bunch (which some may since he's a project and his stock is based off him possessing the tools but needing a lot of development) then getting the 1st pick from the best of the rest is still important.

Plus that 5th spot holds a lot more trade value. Someone from the top 4 may be willing to move back because they are big on Kuminga. Or there's an outside shot someone is that high on him they take him top 4 and you have one of the top 4 slide to you.

Fwiw I've been told the Magic are out on Kuminga due to some personal red flags. It's third hand but the original source would have zero reason to lie to the person who told me. The middle man may though.
