Tesla opened a huge factory in Texas and they want to pull this shit now, lol. Some states give you an additional 2.5-5k in state tax credit on top of the federal credit for EVs to encourage manufacturers and buyers.

EV are expensive and owned by the wealthier classes. This is just them paying their fair share.

Only having gas taxes pay for roads is regressive bullshit

Thinking long term, EV's will eventually come down in price and many major manufacturers are moving to be mostly EV in the next decade. Toyota wants 70% of their new cars to be EV by 2030. Tesla is developing a new model that is targeting a 25k price point in the next 2-3 years.
