Thanks for the tips, I'll try regular battle speed at the start then speed it up if it's bad (I assume there's a button command or it's in the menu somewhere). I will also try not to worry about missables, I'll likely do a bunch of exploration anyway but it'll be nice not sticking to a guide worried about every tiny thing. Mr Crispy posted... Also there's an item in the final dungeon that is completely infeasible to get on your first playthrough because you have to speedrun the game to get it.
