Dungeons dont feel momentous. They feel like Im being led by a string on the same pre-meditated pathways. Does that improve? For example, are their puzzles or labyrinths that change with each play through?

The dungeons actually get even more straightforward layout wise. The difference is, unlike most dungeons in ARR, they aren't, you know....bad. Dungeons become more and more focused on spectacle. I will take literally any expansion dungeon over any ARR dungeon, especially tehe really awful ones between levels 40 and 50.

Do enemy and boss attacks force me to dodge more frequently and stay engaged other than sitting next to the boss doing the same combo string?

....YES.

What is in endgame that makes it all worth it?

The amount of content just keeps growing. I haven't even dipped my toe into actual, like, high difficulty content and stuff like that, but the amount of extra raids and dungeons and side activities is, frankly, staggering.

Right now, Im post-ARB and am doing a lot of fetch quests that are more eye-rolling then engaging. Does the story and quests improve?

ARR patch missions are tied with the pre-Titan questlines as the dullest MSQ content in the game. You are not wrong to feel like it's rough. There is a HUGE payoff at the end just before Heavensward, but that doesn't help the buildup.

To say it improves would be a gross understatement. I enjoyed ARR for what it was when going through it initially, but there is no content within that I would ever be interested in intentiinally revisiting outside of roulettes.
