MMORPGs are all dog shit. I recently had to break off a 20 year friendship with a buddy because he was addicted to Final Fantasy 14 (this after being addicted to 11 and failing out of college because of it), to the point where even though he has a wife, he got married in-game to a dude and convinced his wife that they should meet the man he married in-game and turn an in-game marriage into this weird three-way relationship in real life. This would only be a thing with a girl that has ZERO self worth, because no woman worth being with would put up with that shit. If youre straight up emotionally abusing and cheating on your wife over a fuckin MMO, Im out.
That entire genre and everyone who enjoys it can burn, because Im convinced everyone who plays those games is a nutjob addict. Have you ever actually gone on Twitch and looked up the people who stream this junk? They all look like theyve been on psychotropic drugs for their entire life.
While Ulti is correct that there's a certain level of degeneracy and mental deficiency involved with a sizable portion of the MMO playing community, it is in fact possible to play and enjoy these games casually without them consuming your life. I've been casually playing FF14 since ARR with 3 of my friends and we are all successful in both career and family life.
