Portions of the west definitely (and increasingly, the further we get from WWII and the longer this stretches out) care, and those elements will have more power to act if they don't appear to be acting in support of terrorism. Is it fair for the Palestinians to have to wait for that? No, but reality isn't fair: it's just reality. It's disingenuous to pretend that the Palestinians have always (or are currently) acting perfectly: they have their own flaws.
