Topic	is it just me or is the 80s just the absolute worst

People don't shout the "n-word" as you're walking down the streets as much as back then. But they'll use the legislature to suppress your vote. Also cops would harass you for being black back then with random traffic stops and full vehicle searches - and there were sundown towns - but they didn't shoot like they do today. Police shootings have gotten much worse. Even during Jim Crow, it was the lynch mob not the cops that did the killing (confirmed with relatives who survived Jim Crow).
