I was warned by the locals not to go out alone in MA. Buddy "stared" out of a bar. Sat 40 minutes at a diner when people coming after me had their orders taken and were served while I sat alone near the kitchen. Went there 8 years for grad school. It's reputation is earned.

Haven't even mentioned the cops.

Like a person who lives with a cat, people can become blind to the inconvenient noises, sights and smells that accompany a thing. The locals take it as normal.

This is why I troll on this issue. Small town Mass has a real problem. But the people there can't see it.

And where was this? Shitty service doesn't mean racism. I'm Irish, I'm as white as can be and I have had service just as terrible. Literally had the server walk by my booth to serve the other booths on either side of us even though we were seated first and the restaurant had just opened a half hour earlier on a weekday so there was more staff then customers in the place at that point.

The morons using racial slurs against opposing team's players aren't doing it because of racism they are doing it because of a stupid fucked up way of heckling the competition which has been a thing since the start of sports. It's obviously unacceptable, but it wasn't because the people are racist. Black players from Boston teams have never reported racist slurs being used against them. Some of the most popular players are black.

I grew up in the smallest of small towns where it was probably over 99% white, and a conservative town at that, and the non-whites that were here never faced any issues or harassment for not being white.
