I'm playing 2 Remake for the first time. I cleared Leon A today, I'll do Claire B tomorrow! I didn't pick up 3 Remake (I don't really care for 3. I played it on GCN back in the day and didn't like it as much as 1 or 2.) But I did pick up RE7, and I'm excited to finally play that after I do everything in 2.
Also, a story beat in 2 that always confused me, but I'm sure somebody can explain, If William Birkin works for Umbrella, and is doing research for Umbrella, and expects to be made a member of the board once G is complete, why are Umbrella sending soldiers to attack him and steal his research, but other members of Umbrella are aware of this and are taking precautions to keep him safe? That whole thing never made any sense to me.
Birkin was never loyal to Umbrella, and the only reason he stayed on Umbrella and didn't leave with Wesker was because he wanted to finish the G project. I don't remember exactly, but he was either planning on leaving once he was finished with G or planning on selling it, one of the 2. Umbrella caught wind of this, which is why they sent soldiers to N.E.S.T. I don't remember Umbrella soldiers trying to keep him safe, he got attacked, injected himself with the G virus to not die and exact revenge. I'm pretty sure no Umbrella soldiers tried to keep him safe, but it's been a while so I might not be remembering it right. ---
