I wound up watching MLW Fusion #131 yesterday or the day before... well, some of it, anyway.

I watched a minute or two of the match featuring that comedy wrestler with the American luchador gimmick (el Gringo Loco?) or whatever then skipped the rest (if I wanted to watch a clumsy goof wrestle badly, I'd just watch a Jelly Nutella match).

I was mostly hooked by the Rush/Reed 2 title match, which they hyped amazingly well. I knew absolutely nothing about either guy before starting the episode (which I watched on a whim, mostly because I thought the episode was just a clip from a title fight).

Granted, as much as they built up Rush/Reed 2, as soon as they walked out to the ring I was... eh. But goddamn did that deliver, other than a few stupid things outside the ring (although they made some of those look fucking cool, except for the stupid backflip where one stood there to catch the other)

I will say that the announcing during Rush/Reed 2 was probably some of the best I've heard in years. They played it like a serious presentation, which is weird given the goofs at AEW and WWE. They helped me care about the outcome of a match between 2 wrestlers I'd never seen before.

...of course, the end of the episode was ruined by some fucking cinematic nonsense for Azteca Underground. It took a serious match and followed it with dogshit.
