Teenagers never seem to join up, but the work is pretty tough. At least at the factory my mother works at. Lots of heavy machinery and lifting rather hefty stuff all day.

Depends on what the factory does and the positions. The ones I had teenagers walking out on was at Shutterfly lmao. They were literal button pushers, very little physical labor involved. Same when I was at a sensor/transducer manufacturer, no heavy lifting or muscle needed, just boring af and repetitive. But of they can stfu, show up on time, and sort parts for 8 hours they were making $36-$40k/yr with full benefits and no experience needed. that's not bad at all.
