Raising the supply of workers by raising the desirability of work (wages) never seems to come up in these fluff pieces. American workers are characterized as unskilled and lazy and the people who must change. Meanwhile, businesses are perfect angels who have tried nothing and are all out of ideas.

People will line up to work at a good job with good benefits. People will not line up to work hard and not see improvement in their lives or basic security. Only desperation forces that.
