It's not even a matter of "relying" on it - you _need_ to use it to maximise your effectiveness. I start out with Noir, Queen, Joker, and Panther. Once I've dealt with the first 2 waves of fodder, I swap Panther out for Mona, because the next 2 are weak to wind. The big guys are weak to Psio, so I can probably swap Mona back out for someone with more DD capability.
