I ran a bunch of numbers to guesstimate where things would fall compared to last year, between the larger bracket, higher number of nominations, and raising the threshold to 6, and I concluded that for an equal number of participants, the lock threshold should be like 5.6 or something? So yeah, increased participation is to blame for the threshold not being sufficiently high. Would it have been better at 7, though? I'm not sure.
