Old Battletech fan here, believe it or not, but I have not acquired anything related to it since the days of the Fedcom Civil War, and I have not played it at length in years. Used to belong to a group for it, but the lead player was a complete a****** (and, later, a rapist), so, once he was gone, no one else wanted to play any more, so I was stuck reading novels and sourcebooks to reminisce. Doubt anything will top good ol' pre-Clan Invasion 3026 for me. (I loathe Clantech.) Oh shit, yeah I've just been getting into it from some youtube videos explaining the lore and the history, and I just picked up a boxset for my early-birthday. So I've just played over online and also one pretty simple game with my SO. Things have gotten.... not going to lie they've gotten worse since the clan invasion, but they've also apparently balanced the game better around the clan mechs so they're not so overpowered anymore. ...
