It used to be that video game movies just weren't good adaptations, but now it's a combination of that plus the fact that the games are better movies than the movies are. Uncharted is going to suck, and so is The Last of Us. I always thought the best approach to a video game movie was to do a new storyline featuring familiar characters, themes and elements, not just simply adapting the original game storyline.
