And they were like 11-1 before he got injured in 2012 iirc I just think that 49ers team was built on running and defense and Smith was the perfect "do just enough" guy. When they went to Kaep he wanted the spotlight (and big contract) which pretty much destroyed their identity. Not to mention that like a year after signing a big contract, Kaep couldn't keep the starting job over Blaine Gabbert --- MZero, to the extreme I never saw azuarc coming, but he won the Guru! ...
