The site's users are paying less attention to sports over time. I could see that just from the now nearly dead Sports and Racing board. The poll results merely vividly reinforces that. I would attribute it more to simply getting older and having less free time. Maybe people are just spending that time with family. Maybe they're just focusing more on games because time is limited. Maybe they've grown cynical to the Sports-Industrial Complex and the insane economics of salaries and stadiums costs and ticket prices. Certainly on a personal level I care less about sports than when I was younger.
