Princess Daisy, AKA the one whos 5% more canon than Waluigi. I see people complain all the time that she should be in more canon games, and its like, guys, she was in a Gameboy game from 1989 for five seconds. Shes as important to Mario canon as the king you rescue in world 4 of SMB3. Can you remember world 4 king from all of the other ones? I certainly cant. Like, she is so clearly only in the spinoffs for the sake of having another girl character, but people treat her like she should be more important than she is. By the way, I have an ongoing argument with my sister about if Daisys hair is brown or red, but its my list, so Im putting her down as a brunette.

Daisy has a fine little personality. Shes enthusiastic, shes fun, and she tends to have more interesting animations than Peach, when the situation calls for it. I sort of just project sassiness onto her even though shes never really been established to be sassy at all, but I guess she does stand with her hand on her hips instead of folding her hands in front of her or something. Can I just say that although shes marketed as the tomboy princess, thats really only in comparison to the ultra girly Peach?

Anyway, Daisy is this high on the list almost entirely by virtue of her being a princess and being invited to all of the big Mario events. Theres probably a lot of prestige there.

Look, I think I would say that Daisy is probably as close as you can get to being a blank slate with princess status. Do you understand what I mean? Like, how high will being a princess of a minor country get you if youre otherwise just kind of boring? Because Daisy doesnt get kidnapped as a matter of course, and shes obviously less boring than Peach (Peach is the most boring character ever), but she still doesnt have a ton going on. Like, Ive played a billion Mario spinoffs, but if you asked me what Daisy likes, all Id be able to guess is flowers?

Anyway, Daisy. Shes not even really thought of a common waifu like Rosalina is, is she? How the hell did she even get nominated?
