At the very least, you can do rolls (R1?) that drain your stamina meter and don't make noise. You can also go to NERO checkpoints and find their magic glue guns that permanently boost health/stamina/focus. Speaking of which, if you're tired of getting mobbed with only a peashooter and 2x4, get the perk that allows focus ASAP.
