Aww, guess thats one more song that I wont be able to give an updated ranking to. If I ever get around to doing that at any rate. (Still need to finish properly archiving things. Im still not even through my first solo topic since I havent done any work for a few days.)

Im supposed to listen to a few Sleepytime Gorilla Museum songs, so lets see which songs come immediately after The Donkey-Headed Adversary.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - Phthisis: I dont know. Its certainly differenta bit too loud and discordant, but I appreciate it enough that it should get more than 50 points.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - Bring Back The Apocalypse: Im sure I would have loved this three years ago, but this feels like an unpleasant type of oddness. Less than 50 points, more than 30, so somewhere in that range probably.

And the next song is a 10 minute long epic about the Unabomber, so Im going to go back and find a song of theirs from a different album. Spotify thinks Sleep Is Wrong is one of their more popular songs, so well go with that one for now.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - Sleep Is Wrong: Ehh... not for me, but the band is definitely strange enough that I dont really mind it... about the same score as Bring Back The Apocalypse.

...okay so I seem to have just liked Donkey-Headed Adversary, but the band is still intriguing enough that Im not opposed to hearing other songs by them in the future. Just not the type of thing Id jump into without specific suggestions.



Also supposed to try more Yello, so lets just jump to whatevers popular on Spotify at the moment:

Yello - The Race: 54.72 points, no comments right now.

Yellow, Till Bronner - Till Tomorrow: Pretty much an instrumental and Im really only here because I love the way his voice sounds, so this is not exactly what I wanted from them. Exactly 50 points, I guess? I didnt dislike it or anything.

And there are enough albums here that clicking around blindly seems... unlikely to be worth the time. Still, I do love his voice, so if there are any songs focused on his voice like the actually nominated song did, Id be excited to hear it. Just not excited enough to keep clicking blindly in hopes of finding it.



I clicked a few Triple-Q mashups and didnt find any worth even commenting on, so lets scratch them and move directly to MASTER BOOT RECORD:

MASTER BOOT RECORD - VIRTUAVERSE.GIF: It really feels like its supposed to be something I love since I do like synthesizers and this is a very synth heavy song (and band), but I dont feel any connection to the song beyond I like some of the instruments involved here. Slightly more than 50 points, I think.

MASTER BOOT RECORD - Elvira: Starts off promising (theres some very low tones around the 40 second mark that Im instantly drawn toward) and the glitchy sounding after the 4 minute mark is interesting, but most of the middle of the song doesnt quite appeal to me. Still, definitely the best song Ive heard from the band thus far, 60 points?

MASTER BOOT RECORD - CRASH: 50 points. Has an intensity that I associate with battle themes... this is very rarr, lets blow up the giant boss that is a helicopter or something, rarr, *assault rifle sounds*!!! which I find a bit dull... its certainly not bad, but not really my type of thing.



And I think thats every specific request, isnt it? Theres a few things I added to the list myself, but I think I may be about done listening to things here. Still need to finish updating my spreadsheet of former nominations (Ill resume working on that tomorrow), but this topic may be winding down soon.

...which works since I needed to finish everything before VGMC started, so this may work out quite nicely.
