Cells at Work is amazing. It's an anatomy-and-physiology anime. It takes place inside a human body and the whole thing is a visual metaphor for actual biological processes. So like the whole body is a city and every character is an anthropomorphized cell. The red blood cells are the postal service, the white blood cells are varying classes of assassin, etc. They take it really reallyreally far, to the point where they construct coherent plotlines with satisfying resolutions, by teaching you what the cells in your bodies do in response to infections and injuries and stuff.

It made me tear up at the plight of anthropomorphized cancer cells, while teaching me terms like "inflammatory cytokine." It's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Can't recommend it enough.
