I think participation trophies were more for the parents that got butthurt that their kid didn't get a trophy. Probably the same parents that dumbed down advanced placement classes by calling the school and bitching until their average kid was placed in the "smart class" --- "People incapable of guilt usually do have a good time" -Detective Rust Cohle ...
