This might be relevant to this topic:

I uploaded the Mega Man 1 soundtrack ripped from emulated audio, so it's properly timed (except for the Stage Select theme for some reason) and the audio is actually accurate to the games. It's currently missing the Game Over theme and sound effects, which I have to wait to upload due to upload limits. As far as I know, these are the only uploads on YouTube like this.

I'd like to upload the remaining five NES games, but I almost certainly won't be able to do so before this topic ends. In the meantime, feel free to use these links for the rankings!
Cool! These are really nice sounding rips, so I'm linking to them from now on. I honestly can't tell the 'timing' difference between this rip and others but I can tell this sounds really true to the NES.

i think that's kinda what i expected you to think about blade man; like i said in my SPOILER tags earlier:

despite being a big fan of Akari Kaida (especially her mmbn/starforce work but also her mm&b contributions) i really wasn't as into blade man as the mm10 songs by the other composers i like. and I think a lot of that has to do with that her style is so centered around thick harmonies with weird interactions. Stuff like that comes across way better in something where you can play like actual 4+ voice chords. and I've been thinking the reason the harmonies sound so weird and awkward is basically just because she's trying to compensate with fast 16th arpeggios, but it doesn't work the way it does in mmbn/starforce because there's no room for chord samples or anything. so you're hearing melody change faster than the chords do/etc. Some other things like the strange ways she's choosing to voice the harmonies that are there...which i think is kinda cool, but not as clear as it could be (mm5 handles implying complex harmonies far better)

i still like the song but i'm pretty sure i'd like it significantly more if it were arranged for gba/snes/ds, or if Mari Yamiguchi or someone else tackled the same idea for nes limits, is what i'm saying. and the harmonic clarity lost in her normal style transitioned to nes limits is why
I see we're going to have similar opinions on mm5's soundtrack

Heh.

Regarding Tundra Man: like Acid Man above, I really don't like the main theme, but the Instrumental theme is *chef's kiss*

Yeah I actually haven't listened to the instrumental themes, I stuck to only the themes as I played them in the game (well, aside from PU which I haven't played). I'll listen to them later and see what I think.

Is oil man uh a little bit racist, or is it just me?

Yeah it's uh definitely not just you lol. Not sure why decided to fumble the 'not doing a racist stereotype' ball here (I mean I guess they did it previously with Flame Man but that's not quite as questionable)
